The short version
  • Love Salzburg is an independent editorial guide to Salzburg, Austria — not affiliated with the city, the Festival or any tourism board.
  • Every guide is written by people who actually walk the Altstadt: Mozartkugeln from Fürst, an Augustiner under the chestnuts, the fortress catching the last light.
  • We earn no commission and run no affiliate links; every recommendation is purely editorial.

An independent guide to a Baroque city in B-flat

Love Salzburg is an editorial travel guide to Salzburg — the fortress that was never taken, the UNESCO Altstadt of marble squares and domes, Getreidegasse's iron guild signs, Mirabell's parterre framing Hohensalzburg, the Mozart houses and concert halls, the Sound of Music route, and the Salzkammergut lakes a short drive out. We write the city on its own terms: a place that still thinks in music and was built on a thousand years of white gold floated down the Salzach.

We are independent. We are not affiliated with the city of Salzburg, the Salzburger Festspiele, any tourism board, or any venue we write about, and we take no commission on the places we recommend. When we point you to an official source — Festival dates, fortress hours, Salzburg Card terms — we link it so you can confirm the detail yourself before you book.

Editor

Guides are written and edited by Lena Hofer, Editor, Love Salzburg, with the Love Salzburg editorial team. Lena Hofer is the editor of Love Salzburg, writing about the city's fortress, Baroque Old Town, Mozart heritage and the Salzkammergut lakes from years of living in and walking the city.

Each page carries a visible byline and a last-updated date, so you always know who stands behind the advice. If something here is out of date, or you know a quiet courtyard or a better Nockerl we've missed, we'd genuinely like to hear it.
